They have never been effected by heat coming from the oven. My favorite plus remark about this oven is that while it is in use the whole kitchen does not get hot.
It is a little more expensive than other ovens but it is sturdier and larger. This toaster oven is one of the best purchases I have made.
I needed to have replacement nobs but had no problem receiving them from the company. I use it exclusively for all my baking/toasting.
The only change I would make are larger nob displays. I have canisters nearby.
Baking is quite pleasurable.
I owned a Black and Decker Toaster for 15 years and never had a problem. I bought this toaster just over a year ago and it has now stopped working. I bought what is supposedly a great brand: Delonghi toaster. I contacted Delonghi, they told me that the warranty is for 1 year and I should take it to a service center. I explained to them, that was unacceptable. I own it for just over a year and it just STOPS working and they will do nothing for me. I would NOT recommend anyone buy this toaster.
This toaster oven worked okay the first 3 times I used it and then it completely stopped working - nothing. The chicken worked great, but not today. I only used it once to toast bread and it worked okay, although didn't brown evenly. I used it 2 times to warm-up/brown pre-cooked chicken patties. Now I have to lug it to the service place. This was the first item I've purchased by Delonghi - will not buy a Delonghi brand again.
I've had this very oven for about 3 years with no problems. My only complaint would be that I would have liked to receive two oven racks instead of one in the box; one for the bottom and one for the top, so that I can bake two levels at the same time. So, I've become spoiled and am now on the hunt for the same Delonghi that I had.
He didn't know it was unplugged and used force on the knob unnecessarily. The size is perfect. However, my heavy-handed husband has broken the middle dial (the one that sets the timer or turns on until you turn it off).
The cool sides are great. I am in search of a replacement of the same (stainless - not black), but it's been hard to find. So, I thought I'd try another model, but everything out there seems to be convection (which I do not want); does not have the interior light (which is WONDERFUL.).; and/or does not pop-out the tray/rack when you open the oven door (DELIGHTFUL FEATURE).
You can cook everything from a whole chicken to a full-sized pizza, and the interior light keeps you from having to open the door too much to check on the food's progress. Even so, I give it a 5-star.
We loved our Delonghi and although it was big for a small kitchen it worked great for pizzas, cookies, toast and bagel bites. Sadly one day it just stopped working. Cooked perfectly with no burning on top. Also we loved that we could "bake" on a hot day without heating the house with the full size oven. We thought a fuse had blown for the outlet as there was no warning. I am trying out another brand but miss the light which it had when it opened, tray popping out when you open door, the not burning so am thinking of trying again despite the early demise.
